Anyway, yeah, it's also Veteran's Day in the US, November 11th, at the time of this posting. Of course, it's a day to honor all veterans who stood for their country and freedom. Which includes my grandfather. I really shoulda got the day off dammit.
Ah well. I really like war stories, because they are often the ones with the most realistic/human kind of either fear, or heroism. Being under a constant life and death situation kinda does that to anyone. It either brings out the worst or the best in someone, and thankfully over the years, it has brought the best out of the now-veterans living today, and of course, some did not make it.
That's my two cents on Veteran's Day.
